Living the Landscape: A Contemporary Villa in the Berici Hills

Nestled within the landscape of the Berici Hills, this contemporary villa designed by MIDE architetti originates from the reinterpretation of an existing building through an architectural renovation aimed at enhancing the relationship between living spaces, nature and panoramic views.

This contemporary villa in the Berici Hills interprets the Venetian landscape through essential materials and pure geometries.

The project preserves the original three-level layout while redefining its architectural language, material palette and connection with the Venetian hillside context. The semi-basement level retains the service areas and secondary functions, while the main floor hosts the living area facing west, fully open towards the landscape of the Berici Hills, and the sleeping area oriented eastward in a more intimate and private dimension.

The upper floor, recessed from the volume below in order to reduce its visual impact from the street, accommodates the master suite and establishes a new compositional balance for the entire residence. The architectural intervention emphasizes the lightness of the new upper volumes in contrast with the existing base, while maintaining the rational organization and geometric clarity of the original structure.

The new upper volumes clad in terrazzo-textured panels reinterpret the architectural language of the villa through a contemporary approach.
The terraces and panoramic garden become integral parts of both the architecture and everyday living.
The residential project by MIDE architetti redefines the relationship between contemporary living and the landscape of the Berici Hills

Alongside the villa, an infinity pool and a contemporary pool house extend the living experience outdoors, becoming a natural continuation of the residential spaces. The terraced garden accompanies the architecture towards the landscape of the Berici Hills, reinforcing the continuity between indoor and outdoor environments while strengthening the relationship with the surrounding nature.

The material concept developed by MIDE architetti engages with the tones and atmospheres of the Venetian territory through a pigmented concrete base and new upper volumes clad in textured terrazzo-inspired panels recalling the colors of the Berici Hills landscape. Large glazed surfaces within the living area amplify the visual connection with the hillside panorama, transforming natural light and views into central elements of the living experience.

Light becomes a central element of the architectural design, shaping the interiors throughout the different hours of the day.
The living area enhances natural light, transparency and visual continuity with the Venetian hillside landscape.
