The building is located within a large plot of land in Montebelluna, in the province of Treviso.
The design idea stems from the desire to enhance the existing context, delicately immersing the new dwelling in the greenery: two thin parallel horizontal lines limit the base and roof, ‘protecting’ the ‘living box’ within them. The latter, clad entirely in wood, guarantees the project a high level of integration with the surrounding environment, and through large glass openings allows a relationship of continuity with the large surrounding green park.
High visual permeability and generous natural lighting characterise the interior spaces of the new home.
The architectural object is developed on a single level: in the northern volume are the living, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry room; in the southern volume is a play and recreational area. The extreme simplicity of the floor plan contributes to achieving a high degree of functionality, minimising the space allocated to distribution and thus making the most of the available surfaces in favour of the most important rooms in the house.
The balanced use of simple materials such as exposed concrete with a particular matrix, for ceiling and floor, and cedar wood slats (covering the living blocks), contribute to enhancing the volumetric simplicity of the home, giving it a refined elegance.
