The clients' request was to have a new house with simple lines, where they could enjoy the large existing park.

MIDE architetti has therefore designed a two-storey dwelling, where the large open-plan living area, facing south, overlooks the greenery, protected by a large surrounding porch.

The sleeping area, on the other hand, has a more introspective character: the exposed concrete outer walls are punctuated by regular openings allowing direct contact with the garden.

The large flat roof unites all the rooms of the house, providing adequate solar protection from direct sunlight and weathering. The porch space is also characterised by the presence of ‘light wells’ that welcome the vegetation inside, reinforcing the close synergy between the building and the surrounding vegetation.

The abacus of materials is deliberately restrained to reinforce the design concept: glass, wood and a particular reddish concrete personalised by the presence of a local stone.
