The intervention took place in the center of a large lot located in a suburban area. The desire to fit into the existing rural context led to strong and dynamic design choices.
Characteristic is the essential design of the roof, apparently “cleaned” of the technical elements that usually compose it, such as gutters, cornices and downspouts, which have been integrated into the structure itself, allowing to obtain a simple volume, with pure and essential profiles.
Radical changes have been implemented in the ground floor, which, thanks to the skillful cutting of large sections of the walls, has been transformed into an entire glazed area in continuity with the exterior. The inclusion of glazed surfaces characterizes all spaces, including the wellness
area created in the basement, from whose huge window directly admires the bottom of the pool located in the outdoor garden. Reiterating the indoor-outdoor dialogue is the choice of equal stone flooring for both spaces, as well as the use of the large glass walls that like thin diaphragms create a play of light and reflections delineating but not closing off the interior space.
If the living area lends merit to this search for breath and freedom, allowing the gaze to sweep uninterruptedly along the entire room, the sleeping area contrasts with it by following more introspective needs, almost in antithesis with the lower space.
