The project, designed by MIDE architetti, involves the renovation of a historic farmhouse on the Tuscan hills near Montecatini Terme. The intervention aims to preserve and enhance the distinctive features of traditional rural estates, restoring dignity to a heterogeneous architectural complex that had gradually lost its clarity and volumetric coherence.

The central body, a brick farmhouse dating back to the early 20th century, has been carefully preserved and restored, while more recent additions have been redesigned with a contemporary architectural language. The project focuses on the dialogue between old and new, creating visual and material continuity that allows the building to harmoniously integrate into the Tuscan landscape.
The interiors have been designed to offer a balance between intimate and social spaces. On the ground floor, spaces dedicated to relaxation and leisure include a reading room, a game room, a living area with panoramic views, and a private spa. The kitchen and dining area are located in a new volume open to the landscape, fostering a direct connection between living spaces and the surrounding nature. A second volume houses a guest house, autonomous yet connected to the main building.

The sleeping area, located on the upper floor, has been completely redesigned for functionality and residential quality. It accommodates two double bedrooms, a master suite with private bathroom, and additional service spaces, connected through a new staircase that improves internal circulation.
Special attention was given to materials: stone, wood, and natural plasters interact with minimalist fixtures and clean geometries, reinforcing the concept of a restoration that respects tradition while embracing the future. The architecture is thus essential, elegant, and timeless, highlighting the rolling Tuscan hills and transforming the farmhouse into a contemporary luxury residence immersed in nature.
