Contemporary single-family house between nature and architecture

Located on the edge of a residential area and the countryside, immersed in a lush and authentic landscape, this modern single-family home represents a perfect balance between architectural rigor and openness to nature. Designed by MIDE architetti, the residence unfolds on a single level, with a horizontal layout that sits discreetly and elegantly on the terrain.

The project is composed of two exposed concrete volumes of different heights, positioned to create fluid, bright, and welcoming spaces. The taller volume houses the main entrance, a covered patio, and the living area — an open-plan space flooded with natural light thanks to a large glass wall overlooking the garden.

The lower volume is dedicated to the private sleeping area, organized along a corridor with concealed wardrobes.

The floor plan develops along three parallel bands, interrupted by green courtyards that introduce architectural voids and integrate vegetation as an essential element of the composition. The north-facing entrance serves as a transitional space between indoors and outdoors, featuring a sculptural portal leading to an introspective patio that engages with the landscape while maintaining privacy.

Polished resin flooring unifies indoor and outdoor areas, while the contrast between concrete and natural wood — used for ceilings and walls — adds warmth and sophistication to the spaces. This material choice highlights the design intent of creating a contemporary yet welcoming home.

Kitchen seamlessly integrated with the living area through the coherent use of neutral colors and natural materials.
Carefully selected vegetation intertwines with the concrete volumes, softening the architectural composition.

Attention to detail is reflected in the selection of Italian design pieces, including the “Moon” lamp by Davide Groppi, the “Legnoletto LL8” bed by Alias Design, and the “Tahiti” lamp by Ettore Sottsass for Memphis Milano, which introduces a touch of color and guides visual flow throughout the interiors.

The central patio, with a recessed roof and lagerstroemia trees and ornamental grasses, frames portions of sky and allows natural light to penetrate, reinforcing the direct relationship between the house and the surrounding landscape.
