211        VILLA WITH A LARGE PORCH

A minimalist countryside villa with panoramic glass

In response to the clients’ request for a modern home with essential lines that enhances the surrounding park, MIDE architetti designed a single-level villa that interprets the relationship between architecture and nature in a contemporary way.

Area

1.400 mq

Residence

Este (PD)

The heart of the project is the south-facing open-plan living area, conceived as a true “glass box”: full-height panoramic windows frame the garden, creating a direct visual and perceptual connection with the greenery. A large perimeter porch protects the interior spaces from direct sunlight and creates a natural filter between indoors and outdoors.

The sleeping area, in contrast, is more intimate and private: exposed concrete walls with regular openings offer a balanced dialogue with the exterior while maintaining privacy and comfort.

Open-plan kitchen of the villa designed by MIDE architetti, where colored concrete interacts with surrounding vegetation, creating a suspended atmosphere between interior and exterior.
The texture and color of the exposed concrete define the villa’s monolithic character, emphasizing formal simplicity and a strong connection with natural light.

A defining feature of the project is the continuous flat roof, which unifies all the house’s spaces under a single architectural gesture. Inside, planted light wells act as internal gardens, bringing natural light and greenery into the villa and strengthening the connection between architecture and landscape.

The material language is essential and coherent: glass, wood, and reddish pigmented concrete harmonize with Venetian terrazzo flooring, contributing to a modern, elegant aesthetic firmly rooted in its context.
